Duet Students’ First Dances

Your wedding is coming up? And you have two left feet? No worries. Duet Dance Studio is here to help you look good and feel confident dancing on your wedding day! We have received The Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame and are happy to help you create a wedding first dance that matches your personality and wedding style. Having worked with wedding couples for the past decade, we have developed effective teaching methods to help couples with different dance levels, needs and goals. Whether you want to impress your guests with a "Dancing with the Stars" routine or simply don't want to look like a fool on the dance floor, we can help you achieve your goal in our one-on-one wedding dance lessons.

If you have particular dance styles that you'd like to learn, we will customize your dance lessons to focus on those specific styles. If you don't know which styles to begin, we will help you choose dances that work best depending on the style of your wedding and your first dance song. Have a unique wedding dance mix in mind? Let us know. Our team loves choreographing something out of the ordinary. Besides Ballroom and Latin, many of our instructors are experienced in Modern, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap and Ballet. So, if you have a unique idea, don't be afraid to tell us. We are here to make your vision come true! Click here to check out some of the wedding first dances that we've created in the past.

Don't settle for the middle school sway. Let us help you feel comfortable and look your best dancing at your wedding and beyond.

To help you prepare for your special day, we offer:

Dance Styles We Teach:

Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Salsa, Rumba, Bachata, Cha Cha, Merengue, Swing, Hustle and Country 2-Step.

Length of a Regular Lesson:

It is typically 45 minutes long. The last 5 minutes will be used for scheduling. 90-minute lessons can also be scheduled to help you get the most out of your lesson.

How Many Hours Do We Need? How Often?

It depends how good you want to become and how fast you learn. Similar to learning a sport or a new language, the more time you put into learning and practicing, the better you get. We recommend starting dance lessons 4-6 months before your wedding to make sure you have enough time to learn and perfect your dancing. If you'd like to learn a fully choreographed dance, start as soon as you can. To help you retain information, our couples generally do 45 minutes to 90 minutes of dancing a week.

Schedule:

Lessons can be scheduled anytime Monday to Friday between 4 pm and 10 pm, Saturday between 1 pm and 6 pm and Sunday between 2 pm and 6 pm.

Rates for Private Lessons:

$105 to $125 per lesson depending on the number of lessons purchased at a time. Our introductory wedding dance lesson is only $95! During the lesson, you will meet with one of our dance instructors, discuss your needs and ideas for your first dance. We will teach you some basics to get you started with your wedding first dance!

Questions about cancellation and etc.? Please check out our studio policies.

If you are debating getting dance lessons at Duet Dance Studio — DO IT! My husband and I took lesson with Szewai leading up to our wedding, and it ended up being one of our favorite parts of the wedding experience. Szewai is a delight to learn from — she is so patient and sweet and is a lovely dancer. We loved learning how to work together on a new skill, and the night of our wedding we felt completely comfortable and confident and nailed our dance! Many guests have told us it was the best first dance at a wedding they’d ever seen. We’ve enjoyed lessons at Duet so much that we have bought additional lessons to use after our wedding. We are excited to learn new styles, and spend more time with the Duet crew! We can’t recommend Duet highly enough.
